highlights

  • Of our two family safaris, this one is more rugged, offering a tented camp experience and a village visit. The village visit permits you to spend time with African children and families, not as a tourist but as guests and friends. For families interested in teaching children about the larger world, this is a special opportunity. The reception you receive will change your understanding about Africa.

  • Sleep in a tented camp in the Serengeti. Kids get a chance to fall asleep with animals all around them, without giving up familiar comforts. Western-style food is served, with a traditional Tanzanian meal on the last evening, eaten with the hands.

  • Visit Minjingu Village with the Mwangaza Children's Project. A chance to visit a school, meet families in their homes, and enjoy a traditional meal prepared by the village women's group. You also learn about Mwangaza's health care outreach programs. The reception you receive is unforgettable. Guests who have done the village visit always remember it as the highlight of their trip. Many characterize it as an experience that has changed their understanding of the world.

  • Superb wildlife observation. In the Serengeti, a chance to witness the last great mass migration in the world, with animals filling the plains as far as the eye can see. And lots of close-range observation, too. Game drives by Land Cruiser for maximum convenience and safety.

  • Walking safari. A chance to get out of the Land Cruiser and see the land up close in a very safe area.
