- This trip emphasizes activity. It includes a walking safari, a night
game drive and a horseback excursion. The focus is wildlife, with many
unique resources provided. If you take this trip in July, August or
September, you will be in the middle of the annual migration into Kenya.
- Rhinos. Lewa Downs is a private Conservation Area which was previously
land owned by a Kenyan ranching family. The property includes the Ngare
Sergoi Rhino Sanctuary, home to one of the largest rhino populations
in Africa. Since rhinos are an endangered species, you'll be very lucky
if you see them anywhere else. Lewa Downs offers a variety of thrilling
options. If you like horses, you can saddle up and move among the herds
of wildebeest and zebra on horseback, a remarkable experience.
- Samburu National Reserve is remote — no crowds. Samburu has lots
of unique animals.
- Each year, tens of thousands of hoofed animals cross the Serengeti
for the sweet oat grass of the Maasai Mara. Wildlife is concentrated,
with lots of closerange viewing and the best lion viewing in Kenya.
- Lake Nakuru. A small fenced park with a dense animal population. Every
time you turn a corner, there's a new animal. Wonderful for younger
childrenless patience required.
- Accommodations. You stay in traditional lodgescomfortable and
familiar. One permanent tented camp is included. Here you have the experience
of sleeping under canvas in a protected environment. You won't see elephants
roaming outside your tent, but you might hear a lion roaring in the
dark.
