The Guides were fantastic; the wildlife and scenery amazing; and the accommodations were great. Africa had been a life-long destination for my husband and we did a lot of research before selecting our tour operator.
We want to stress how important the Guides were to the overall success of the trip. We really feel Deeper Africa is the best in terms of the Guides they provide. ...Our Guides were native born... and were an absolute wealth of knowledge not only in terms of wildlife and locations but also political and cultural history and current context... We saw other tour companies in action while we were in Uganda and Kenya and those tour operators brought in Guides who were not born and raised in the countries being visited. Those non-native Guides -- while entertaining in their personality style -- definitely fell short when it came to deep content or insight into the countries and places we visited.

Trip Overview
Uganda is packed with premier wildlife viewing in a variety of ecosystems. Our Wildlife of Uganda safari allows you to see it all. Spend a day with a gorilla family in the rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and another observing chimpanzees in Kibale Forest. There is nothing more spectacular than looking into the eyes of a gorilla and having him look right back at you.
Wildlife species change dramatically as you move into the wetlands and savannah ecosystems of the famous Queen Elizabeth Park. Expect sightings of hippo, Ugandan kob, buffalo, elephant, bushbuck, waterbuck, as well as a great diversity of bird species drawn to the water. As you move south into the savannah ecosystem of Queen Elizabeth, you will also have the opportunity to observe "tree climbing lions," topi, eland, and elephant.
Uganda has some of the best bird watching in all of Africa along the Kazinga Channel, just off Lake Edward. Lake Mburo has great bird and animal wildlife, as well as opportunities for hiking and horseback riding. Uganda, the "Pearl of Africa", welcomes you.
