Dear Deeper Africa,
I traveled with Deeper Africa to Kenya and then later to Uganda & Rwanda. Both trips were excellent in every respect. The guides were superb, and my safety and the well being of the animals were clearly top concerns for the company. They got me as close as possible to wildlife and I have enjoyed my Deeper Africa trips more than trips to Africa with other tour operators due to the quality of their guides, itineraries, planning & personalized service.

Since I usually plan our vacations myself, it was with trepidation that we decided to use a tour operator for the Kenya and Tanzania trip. It turned out to be the best decision we made, as the details of the trip were carried off without a hitch. We were met on time (in spite of unexpectedly terrible weather and the roads turning to mud, the guide met us right on time at the airfield in the Maasai Mara). We went out immediately to see the wildebeest and zebras at the crossing. The sky cleared, the wildebeest finally decided to take the plunge, and we were witness to this amazing once-in-a-lifetime spectacular. This was not even our favorite part of the trip!!!

Deeper Africa arranged for different guides in Kenya and Tanzania, and both were absolutely top notch. They were great "spotters", and so we saw things we would and have missed (and other vehicles with multiple passengers just zipped on past, hurrying to the next place on their itinerary). We learned about the culture, the economy for the typical people we were seeing, and met and talked to people we would not have approached on our own.

The wildlife viewing was great, and part of the reason we went was to be able to become intimate with my new digital DSLR, so this was satisfying. Both guides were patient, had traveled with professional photographers, and were great about positioning the vehicle for photos and backgrounds.

What a spectacular trip. I would never have been able to chose the variety of camps and lodges that Deeper Africa set up, and for sure I did not understand the complexities of traveling in this setting.

I want to go again NOW.
