The Uganda portion of our trip was filled with incredible wildlife viewing, and thanks to our Ugandan guide, Denis Erabu, we were able to get amazingly close to the animals without disturbing them. Denis was very in-tune with the habits of the animals and knew where and when to look for them. He was able to anticipate the movements of the animals and approach them in a non-threatening manner allowing us to get far closer to the wildlife than other vehicles. In many cases we were two feet from animals and alone with them for prolonged periods. Time and again our guide proved his unique skills, resulting in an unbelievable wildlife viewing experience throughout the trip.It was a stunning experience to look up into a fig tree above us after an afternoon downpour and see three young lions looking back at us! I might easily have missed the several species of monkeys we saw playing along the road throughout the country were it not for Denis' keen eye. Seeing the gorillas was among the experiences of a lifetime, but I would not have wanted to miss out on the chimpanzees, the elephants, or any of the other wildlife either!

Our Gorilla and Chimpanzee Safari provides the opportunity to gain close access to the world's last wild gorillas and chimpanzees. Begin your gorilla viewing with two days of viewing in Uganda's Bwindi Forest, followed by two more days of gorilla viewing in Rwanda's Parc' Nationales des Volcans. Parc' Nationales was made famous by Diane Fossey and the movie Gorillas in the Mist. Four days of viewing allows you to observe the subtle behavioral differences resulting from the markedly different habitats between Bwindi and Parc' Nationales.Visiting Uganda's Kibale National Park gives you the opportunity to view chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Plus, wildlife viewing in the famous Queen Elizabeth National Park and Mburo National Park make this safari truly unique.
Both Queen Elizabeth and Mburo have a variety of traditional safari animals available for viewing, including elephants, hippo, Ugandan kob, and many antelope species.
