Considering Active Adventures as Part of Your Safari?
Many national parks, reserves, and conservation areas permit walking safaris. Strike out on foot with well-trained guides who can explain the small things that can be missed when you are not down close to the land. Something more exotic? There are balloon safaris in the Maasai Mara and Serengeti. Or bicycling past the scenery in northern Tanzania and some areas of Kenya and Uganda. How about canoeing in northern Tanzania? If you'd rather go horseback riding, plan your safari in Uganda, Kenya, or northern Tanzania. Are you a birdwatcher? Birds are everywhere in East Africa, but the Kazinga Channel in Uganda is really something special.
