Our Owners Lend the Personal Touch

Wil Smith has been exploring wild and remote spaces for over 30 years. Karen's gift for research and management has been instrumental in developing their vision of travel as life experience. Together, Karen and Wil have developed an innovative approach based on their deep concern that "what is left of our wilderness paradise will soon be destroyed by an exploding and very hungry population," and their conviction that responsible tourism contributes to the economic value of wilderness and plays a vital role in its preservation.

Our Guides Make you Feel at Home in their Home

We select our guides for their knowledge of wildlife and birds, their ability to teach and for their gracious hospitality - their ability to make you feel at home in their home. Our guide to guest ratio is low: one guide for every four or five guests.
